Salt & Straw to (Hopefully) Open in March at Disney Springs!

Sooooooo good!

Update: March didn’t happen, but you can read the latest here!

We still don’t have an exact date, but we now know that Salt & Straw should open in March! The new location will be at Disney Springs, in the spot that was originally supposed to house Ample Hills Creamery.

This is going to be the first location for Salt & Straw in the Orlando area. There are two locations in or near Miami, but most are on the West Coast.

There hasn’t yet been an official announcement. Instead, the information was released in an email, which said, “We are THRILLED to say we plan to open in March — exact timeline still pending construction — but that is our current plan.” The email was sent from Alison Hiatt, Salt & Straw’s Chief Market Officer.

Salt & Straw has some of the best ice cream that I’ve ever had. It’s been a must-do for my daughter and me ever since we first tried it at Disneyland’s Downtown Disney.

One thing that I like about Salt & Straw is that there are always several dairy-free flavors available. There are some on their regular menu, plus they often have limited time flavors without dairy. My daughter has a dairy allergy, and it’s nice that she can have a treat from Salt & Straw that does not compromise on flavor or texture.

When I hear the exact date, I’ll let you know. I might even check it out immediately, you know, for research.
