Bonus Reservations

Annual Passholder lane at Epcot

If you’re an Annual Passholder, you can make and hold up to five Disney Park Pass reservations at a time, depending on your level of pass. Disney promised “bonus reservations”, and we now know what they are! Here is what I’ve figured out so far. This is based on my experience.

The first thing that you need to do is to sign in to your My Disney Experience account. Then, head to the Availability Calendar. You’ll need to select who you would be making reservations for, you can’t just see the dates at this time. At least that’s been my experience.

When you wish upon a star…

Once you’re on the Availability Calendar, you might notice that there are some dates with a star. Those are your bonus reservation dates! You will be able to make a reservation for that date and not have it count towards your limit of Disney Park Pass Reservations.

If you pick one of those dates, you’ll have to choose from the park or parks listed. I’m pretty sure the idea is to get people into a park on a slower day, so you might want to take advantage of them! I noticed that the two bonus reservations are in this month, there currently aren’t any past September. I expect that more will pop up in later months when we get closer.

While I’m still not a fan of having to make theme park reservations, I’ve accepted that they are most likely here to stay. It’s nice that there will be some extra days from time to time. A lot of the spontaneity of yesteryear is now gone, but bonus reservations mean that I don’t have to plan too far in advance…
