My Biggest Surprise of 2018

Even Pandora was empty

Since 2018 is almost over, I thought it would be fun to look back a little on what an incredible year it has been. What better place to start than with my biggest surprise of the year? At least my biggest surprise as far as Walt Disney World is concerned.

No lines for characters

Without a doubt, I have to say the biggest surprise was how much I enjoyed Disney After Hours. I attended both the Disney’s Animal Kingdom version and the Disney’s Hollywood Studios version. I’d give a slight nod to the Studios one, but mainly because that’s my favorite park.

No other people in Asia

There is something special about seeing a park with no crowd. At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, there were entire walkways without another person in sight! Since Disney’s Hollywood Studios is a much smaller park, it wasn’t quite the same, but it was still special. I’ll never forget the eerie feeling of being the only non-Cast Member inside Launch Bay. It was so cool to see.

No one else was in Launch Bay

If you can fit it into your budget and your plans, I highly recommend Disney After Hours. It seems expensive, but if you are all about not waiting in line for rides then you will love it. One of these days I’ll do the Magic Kingdom version as well. You know, for research…
