Wildlife Express Train

Although it has not officially been announced by Walt Disney World, it looks like Rafiki’s Planet Watch is closing at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. According to several reports, Cast Members have been informed of the closure. In situations such as this, they’ll be reassigned to other areas.

According to reports, the last day for the meet and greets for Rafiki and Doc McStuffins will be September 29. There are no times available for either character on the Walt Disney World website after that date. Doc McStuffins currently also greets at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. There’s no word on whether or not Rafiki will start greeting elsewhere.

The rest of Rafiki’s Planet Watch will close on October 21. This is currently the home of Conservation Station, Affection Section, and Habitat Habitat!. There have not been any hints as to what, if anything, will take over the area. Wildlife Express Train is expected to close as well.

If I hear anything new, or when the closure is officially announced, I’ll let you know.
