The popular Christian concert series Praise Wave is returning to SeaWorld Orlando. The series is usually held in the winter, so the announcement of additional concerts in September came as a bit of a surprise.

At this moment there are two dates and two artists that will participate. Michael W. Smith will take the stage on Saturday, September 15, and the following week, September 22, it will be Newsboys. If you’re not familiar with contemporary Christian music, these are two of the biggest names, and they both have been involved in the industry for decades.

There will be two concerts each week, at 1:30 and then again at 4:00. Reserved Seating and Premium Reserved seating are available. Keep in mind that it’s the sections that are reserved, not the actual seats. Those are still on a first come basis. Reserved Seating is $20, Premium $35, and the price does not include theme park admission. I’m assuming that there will also be general admission seats that don’t cost extra, but the website isn’t 100% clear on that.

Shows will be held in the Nautilus Theater, and each set will last about 45 minutes. The Newsboys show will coincide with the first day of SeaWorld Halloween Spooktacular. That is a kid-friendly trick or treat party that is included with park admission.

Holding Praise Wave in September is a smart move on SeaWorld’s part. The long running Christian concert series Night of Joy, which was always held in September, is not returning to Walt Disney World this year. Instead, both MercyMe and Tauren Wells will be performing as part of the Eat to the Beat Concert Series at Epcot. Rock the Universe, another two-night Christian concert event, is taking place at Universal Orlando resort on September 7 and 8.
