Peter Pan’s Flight Ride Description (and More)

Peter Pan’s Flight should be on your must do list

Peter Pan’s Flight is arguably the most popular family ride at the Magic Kingdom. It’s one of the park’s original attractions, and it is located in Fantasyland. The Disneyland version dates back to 1955, and there are five versions at various Disney Parks across the planet.

On Peter Pan’s Flight you’ll board a pirate ship and fly over Neverland. One highlight for many is the scene over London, if you look carefully you’ll see some popular landmarks. You’ll then enjoy flying over several scenes from the classic movie. The ride lasts approximately two minutes and 45 seconds, and the time (literally) flies by.

Peter Pan is a classic movie that spans generations. Our parents saw it in theaters in 1953, my generation saw it as it returned to theaters from time to time, and then we showed it to our children on VCR and DVD. The ride is true to the film, you’re just watching things from a different angle.

Many people are shocked to discover just how long the line for Peter Pan’s Flight can get. There are two reasons why. The first is obvious, it’s because it’s a popular ride. The second reason is because the ride capacity is relatively low. Not all that many people can ride at once. I doubt that in 1971 anyone realized what things would be like almost 50 years later.

If Peter Pan’s Flight is on your must do list (and it should be), you’ll want to get FastPass+ or get in line at rope drop. The line can get crazy long. Don’t expect to be able to grab this for your fourth FastPass+ reservation because there’s little chance that anything will be available the day of. If you don’t have FastPass+, the queue is fantastic. You’ll wind through the Darling home. The attention to detail is amazing.
