Toy Story Land Progression

On March 22, I was part of a select group that was allowed to see the progress of Toy Story Land. It was 100 days before the park’s June 30 opening. We were not allowed to take pictures, but we did get to see how things are shaping up. I am now more excited than ever, it’s going to be incredible.

Slinky Dog Dash (one of two new rides) looks like it is almost ready to go. From the model inside Walt Disney Presents I’ve always thought that the family friendly coaster is going to be fun, and now I am convinced of it. From the barrier that we were behind we couldn’t see much of the other new ride, Alien Swirling Saucers, but we were told that it is right on schedule.

Toy Story Mania! is also going to be part of the land, and it is getting a new entrance. The building that guests will go through is up, but you can’t yet tell what it is going to be. The same is true for Andy’s Lunchbox, which will be a counter service restaurant.

One thing that we learned today is that there will be meet and greets featuring Woody, Jessie, and Buzz Lightyear in Toy Story Land. Woody will be there to greet guests as they enter, we weren’t told where the others will be.

There will be two more previews over the next two months, and I look forward to seeing the progress each time.
