A New Take on a Christmas Morning Tradition

We may not have a Christmas parade this year, but Disney isn’t leaving us high and dry!

Like many families, watching the Christmas Parade from Walt Disney World is part of our Christmas morning tradition. Unfortunately, things look different this year. That doesn’t mean we can’t start our holiday with a bit of Disney magic. Disney Parks Blog has announced that on December 25 we will be treated to Disney Parks Magical Christmas Celebration.

The show will be hosted by Julianne Hough and Tituss Burgess. According to Disney Parks Blog, “this year’s Christmas special will feature merry musical performances, holly jolly laughs, heartwarming family stories, and special sneak peeks.” Musical artists include Tori Kelly with the Florida A & M University Gospel Choir, Trevor Jackson, and Jon Batiste.

The sneak peeks include a look inside Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, which is scheduled to open at Epcot sometime next year. We’ll also get a look at the new Marvel series WandaVision, which will debut on Disney+ on January 15, 2021. There will also be a peek inside the Disney/Pixar feature Soul, which is skipping theaters and hitting Disney+ on Christmas Day.

Disney Parks Magical Christmas Celebration won’t be quite the same as the annual parade, but it will still be a great way to spend Christmas morning. The show will air on ABC on December 25, starting at 10:00 eastern. Check your local listings in other time zones. The program will last two hours.
