Navigating Through EPCOT

Everything is marked

Yesterday was the first time that I stopped by EPCOT in a couple of weeks. There have been some big changes in the front of the park in that time. The changes were expected, but it’s still a bit jarring when you first enter. I thought I’d give you a heads up, and a couple of tips as well.

Some of the walls are decorated

The most important thing that you need to do at EPCOT right now is to pay attention to the signs. You can’t easily walk in and take a left or right after Spaceship Earth and then end up at World Showcase. The entire middle of Future World is blocked off, but it is still possible to get where you are going. Disney has done a great job of marking everything. If you pay attention to the signs, you will be able to get where you need to be.

It’s easy to figure out where you need to go

You will also want to give yourself extra time, especially if you have a Frozen Ever After FastPass+ or a dining reservation in World Showcase. I had somewhere that I needed to be at a certain time, and I was surprised by how long it took me to get there. I’m only talking about five minutes or so, but when your FastPass+ is about to expire that five minutes is precious.

It’s hard to get lost if you’re paying attention

Pick up a map when you enter EPCOT, especially if you aren’t overly familiar with the park. Use the map in conjunction with the signs everywhere, and you should not have a problem getting where you need to go.

EPCOT is still beautiful, even with the walls

The most important piece of advice that I can give when it comes to EPCOT at the moment is to take a deep breath. Don’t let the construction walls distract from the magic. Instead, let them add to it. Once the transformation is complete EPCOT will be more amazing than ever. Don’t skip EPCOT because of the construction. There is still plenty to love about Walt Disney World’s second park. Good things are on the horizons. (Yes, that was an EPCOT-of-the-past pun.)
