A Revision of the Revised Hours for Rise of the Resistance

Keeping track of the hours is kind of like reading a Resistance chart…

Okay, the title may not immediately make sense, but it fits my sense of humor perfectly. A few days ago, during the piece that I wrote that was a Q & A for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, I told you that operating hours for Disney’s Hollywood Studios had changed. Well, it looks like it has happened again.

From now until December 21, Disney’s Hollywood Studios is scheduled to open at 7:00am. From December 22 until February 1, the park is currently scheduled to open daily at 8:00am. I would not be surprised to see another adjustment in there in the future and the time moved earlier, especially during Christmas Week. Update: I was right! The park will open at 6:00 December 26 through December 31. Learn more here.

Extra Magic Hours have been moved as well. The park normally has an extra hour in the morning on Sundays, but that will not be the case for the next few weeks. Disney’s Hollywood Studios will hold two Extra Magic Hours on Sunday evenings instead. The exception is on December 29, when the Magic Kingdom will be the EMH park instead. The morning Extra Magic Hour is currently back on the schedule for February 2, 2020.

Disney has been opening Disney’s Hollywood Studios early each day since Rise of the Resistance opened, so it makes sense that they make it official. If you are headed to Walt Disney World in the next few weeks, keep checking the schedule. There is a good chance that the revised revised hours could be revised yet again.

There is no word on how long Disney plans to keep using boarding groups for Rise of the Resistance. The system seems to be working so far, with a few tweaks and adjustments. I have a feeling that it will continue for the foreseeable future. When I hear more information, I will be sure to let you know.
