Ten Second Tip: Take Storms Seriously

Storms move in quickly in Florida

You’ll hear me talk quite a bit about “the normal summer pattern” for storms. (Summer in Florida as far as the storms are concerned starts in April and ends in October, but could also return during the other five months.) These storms roll in quickly, bring a lot of rain, and then roll out again. There’s also a lot of lightning. Storms need to be taken seriously. Lightning can and does kill. Florida is the lightning capital of the United States, and Orlando is in the middle of what is known as “Lightning Alley”. If there’s a storm, stay safe and take shelter. Don’t become a statistic.
