Disney’s Holiday D-Lights Tour Information

There are picture opportunities along the way

Tours are a special way to get a better idea of how the Disney magic is created. Since the Christmas Season is the most magical time of year at Walt Disney World, there are two different tours that you can sign up for that will take you behind the scenes. Both are run by Adventures by Disney. One tour is Disney’s Yuletide Fantasy. The second is Disney’s Holiday D-Lights. Both are special, and either will help you to gain a new appreciation of all that goes on behind the scenes.

This is the information for Disney’s Holiday D-Lights. I’ve been on an abbreviated version as part of a media group, and the small part that we saw was jam packed with facts. Remember if you sign up for a tour that you will not be allowed to take pictures in backstage areas (places that aren’t open to the public) but there are a couple of photo opportunities along the way where pictures will be taken and then you’ll be given information on how you can download them.

Disney’s Holiday D-Lights starts with a barbecue dinner served family style at Whispering Canyon Cafe. You’ll then go backstage at both the Magic Kingdom and Epcot to learn quite a bit about what goes into getting the parks ready for the holidays. There is plenty of trivia, and you’ll learn a lot about what it takes to put the lights on Cinderella Castle. Questions are encouraged. The tour group will see the lighting of Cinderella Castle, attend the Candlelight Processional, and then will enjoy the holiday version of IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth. Each guest will receive a limited-edition keepsake pin to remember their experience by.

There are only 16 dates for Disney’s Holiday D-Lights. It will begin on November 26 and the last one will be held on December 20. The tour lasts for six hours. The cost is $279 per person, and all guests need to be 12 or older. For more information or to make reservations, call 407-WDW-TOUR (407-939-8687).
